Access Helps Hawaii Foodbank Help Others
Access Information Management announced today that they will donate use of their portable storage containers to the Hawaii Foodbank. Access will place five storage containers at different locations on Oahu and will also donate storage space at their location. These storage containers will be used to store some of the 500,000 pounds of food the Hawaii Foodbank collects annually.
“We are always trying to help the community we serve,” stated Rob Alston, Vice President and General Manager for Hawaii. “The Hawaii Foodbank is a great organization and we are happy we can do our small part to help their cause.”
About the Hawaii Foodbank The Hawaii Foodbank in partnership with the food industry and community serves as a link between charities and those in need of food assistance. Their drivers collect food from supermarkets, distributors and wholesalers and bring them to a warehouse for inspection and sorting. Goods are then available for distribution to 250 charitable agencies on Oahu to feed our hungry. The Hawaii Foodbank network serves the elderly, families, children, and those facing financial crises each week. Hawaii's hungry are people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, ages and economic status. For a more detailed profile on Hawaii's hungry, see the results of "Hunger in America 2001" a study done by America's Second Harvest, the national food bank network.
